More Snow!!! · Dec 21, 06:32 AM
It just keeps snowing! We got a bit of freezing rain in the night, so we have 5-6 inches of snow with a layer of icy crust on top, and it’s kept snowing all day, so there’s wet snow on top of the ice. Walking is really fun – the ice crunches and makes a fantastic Godzilla-stomp sound with every step. We went to Green Lake, and found lots of kids sledding, lots of adults cross-country skiing, and lots of really happy dogs.
The snow is clinging to tree branches really nicely, and the ice has crusted the snow onto the tree branches, so the forest of Woodland Park is absolutely magical. Someone left a sled at the bottom of a hill in the park, so Jonathan had to give it a try.
It is really bizarre seeing so much snow here. It is even more strange seeing big piles of snow where people have shoveled – that just never happens here. The forecast is calling for more snow for the rest of today and through tonight, so we should have a lot more tomorrow. We are very grateful that we live within walking distance of everything we need. The roads are pretty nasty, with all the alternating ice and snow.
There are tonnes more pictures here now:
