Our trans-country trip today. · Oct 6, 02:18 PM

Actually, we changed worlds.

We’re in London for the night, and it is amazing that we’re a scant 200 miles from Aberystwyth, because it really is a completely different world here from there..
And was for a good deal of the almost 5 hours of train riding we did today.

But, before that, we packed out little caravan up this morning and moved out..

We crammed all our stuff into (mostly) the boot of our tiny car, and recorded a video of our drive down from Borth to Aberystwyth; a video will be coming soon!
We then did a little last minute shopping, and had a really great lunch at an organic grocery/restaurant. It was the best meal we ate the whole trip.

After that, we played 500 card rummy on the train (we’ve played a lot of rummy on this trip) until we got to London. We are staying in the same hotel, in the same room, where we stayed our first night in Britain. It’s a really mild evening here, so we decided to go for a walk. Our hotel isn’t very far from Baker Street, home of Sherlock Holmes, so we decided to walk there. There is a Sherlock Holmes museum there, but the building itself is rather dull, and of course the museum was closed at 9:00 at night.

But we did find a quiet pub and sat and talked over a lovely smooth pint of bitter.

Now we’re tucked into bed for our last night in Britain. Tomorrow will be a long day of planes, trains, and automobiles….
